Chapter 2: Summer of Revelations' Recap
Several major revelations came to light during MOOL's second season. Recent widow and Nichols' Beauticon star model, Michelle Dientes Alvarez, returned to Coral Springs after learning that the authorities had apprehended the man who shot and killed her husband. Although the investigating officer, Enrique Rivera, informed her that hitman Jonathan Dagos was unwilling to talk, Michelle was determined to get answers out of him. After learning he had a younger sister who was drastically ill, Michelle offered to pay for his sister's medical expenses in exchange for the truth. Jonathan reluctantly agreed. Unfortunately, before he could reveal the name of the woman who hired him, he succumed to an unsuspecting poison. The only lead Michelle and Enrique had to go on was the name of a local youth camp - West Creek.
Danielle Marquez (Michelle's half-sister) would soon learn that her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Brett Delgado, was the owner of West Creek Camp, a major piece of the puzzle that Michelle and Enrique were desperate to find following Jonathan Dagos untimely demise. Fearing that Danielle might get too close to truth, Brett tried to end things with her, but she refused to let him go. Enrique and Michelle eventually discovered that Brett was being paid a substantial amount of money to manage West Creek Camp. Convinced that he was connected to Kasey's murder, Michelle and Enrique shared their suspicions with a non-receptive Danielle. Despite her continued reluctance to believe that Brett had any part in Kasey's death, the trio confronted Brett and demanded he come clean about everything he knew. Realizing that Danielle deserved the truth, Brett confessed that his boss ordered him to kill Sandy Reynolds, but he refused and left Coral Springs. By the time he returned, a professional hit was taken out on Sandy Reynolds and Kasey got caught in the crossfire. He also revealed that Denise Sharrington, Kyle Sharrington's mother, had ordered the hit. At that point, Danielle was floored and could no longer look Brett in the face. Unfortunately for her, Denise Sharrington had secured the exit, enraged that Brett had turned the tables on her.
Fortunately for the hostages, Dana Lombard and Matthew Pryce had found their way to the second floor to check in with their family before Denise made her surprise appearance. Once Dana and Matt discovered the hostage situation taking place, they devised an ill-conceived plan to rescue Michelle and the others from the gun-wielding mob queen. However, when Matt foolishly ran out into view to trip up Denise, bat-wielding Dana was to take a swing at the mob queen, but unfortunately, she missed. Due to his inner will to protect Dana, Matt was able to astroproject himself to her aide and strike Denise dead. However, fearing backlash from skeptics, Dana and Matt omitted the detail from their affidavit and convinced the group to do the same. Once Michelle knew Shaquanna Nichols was the puppetmaster behind this whole ordeal, she went after the fashion mogul with a vengeance, promising penance for her actions. She then quit her modeling gig with the agency and went to Alexander Pierre with a scandalous tell-all on Shaquanna. Needless to say, Shaquanna Nichols' stellar reputation was shot to hell, but that was only the beginning for Michelle. She wanted to see the bitch bleed. She wanted Shaquanna to feel the immense pain that she felt every waking hour, knowing her husband would never come home again. This fixation led to the eventual summation of Danielle's relationship with Brett, who was tired of playing second fiddle to Michelle's grief and told Danielle they were finish. Upset over Brett's breakup, Danielle lashed out at her sister, instructing her to crawl out of her dark hole and accept that Kasey was not coming back.
As harsh as the words were for her to hear, Michelle did finally seek help and was able to move past her antagonistic relationship with Shaquanna. Whether that was before or after she opened up a rival modeling agency and stole Shaquanna's top liasions, that's anyone's guess.
Back in Hallandale, Officer Aubrey Capitulous Everestt was seeking her own justice as she worked hard to get to the bottom of the Leonard Stone's murder case. After weeks of harrassing the citizens of Hallandale, she threw an interrogation party with all the major players in town (i.e. her list of suspects, Rochelle Desmores heading the top). While many of them remained up in arms about what Aubrey had planned, nothing could prepare them for her showstopper: Leonard Stone's resurrection right before their very eyes. It had became crystal clear to Rochelle that the apparitions of Leonard she was seeing were indeed Leonard trying to spook her into a confession. Apparently, the Pierre's weak-minded, former gatekeeper had lost all recollection of the night of his attempted murder, seeking Rochelle's help in putting the pieces together. Although reluctant, Rochelle agreed. It appeared she should have been as it would lead to her eventual attempted murder charge. When the authorities discovered bloody rags with Leonard's blood in Rochelle's apartment, along with a paperweight that placed her at the scene, she was arrested under suspicion of attempted murder. Evelin Vasquez represented her once the case went to trial, but after taking a beating with the testimonies of Royce, Anton and Kavina, Evelin urged Rochelle to come clean about her whereabouts.
When Rochelle revealed that she was indeed in Leonard's room the night of the murder, Evelin decided not to pursue that avenue any further.
Prosecuting attorney Liam Jackson seem to have the case in the bag until Lacreasha Dupree and Kyle Sharrington discovered by chance that Leonard had a twin brother, Dean. Compound with her suspicions about Leonard's sudden resurrection from the dead, Lacreasha convinced Kyle to help her have Leonard's gravesite exhumed. To no surprise, they found that Leonard's remains were still buried, which meant that the man walking around as Leonard Stone had to be his twin brother. The two ran to the courthouse and exposed Dean as an imposter. Once Aubrey's involvement in the faux-resurrection of Leonard Stone came to light, the judge had no choice but to declare a mistrial. Rochelle was now free, thanks to her former friend, turned nemesis. Sadly, it did nothing to bridge the rift between them. Of course, it did give Rochelle a new place to direct her anger, especially when Dean later tried to apologize for deceiving her. She welcomed it with a slap across the face and a declaration that he never come near her again. The threat didn't hold against Dean for long. When the courts threaten to go after him for fraud, he begged Rochelle to help him find his brother's killer.
Former con-artist Darron Wolek's life took an interesting turn when his ex- wife, Carmen Fieldings, and their son, Brian, returned to town. Brian was now a young collegiate man with a huge chip on his shoulder. He also resented his father for raping his mother, especially since he was the product of that rape. One night, Brian finally cornered his father and demanded answers for all the wrongdoings he felt Darron committed. However, he got more than he bargained for when Darron went into great detail about the night he got drunk and forced himself on Carmen. Having to listen to Darron relive the act of violence that resulted in his conception made Brian sick, but nothing would shock him more than the admission that Darron was not his father. Growing up, it might have been a dream come true for Brian, but if what Darron was saying was true, who was he really? That's the question that resounded in Brian's head, and Darron took too much delight in telling Brian that he was the product of a one-night stand with a man that his mother didn't even know. After years of being belittle by his faux-son's hatred for him, the truth was both gratifying and freeing for Darron, even though it toppled Brian's world upside down. Brian needed answers. He needed clarity from a source that he could rely on, so he sought out his mother, who was furious that Darron had told Brian the truth in her absence.
After his mother confirmed that everything Darron had said was true, Brian ran into the dark of night, furious with his mother for lying to him all these years. While on the run, he met equally moody and rebellious Jennifer Everestt, the daughter of Officer Aubrey Capitulous Everestt. The two instantly connected over their messed up family lives. It was her kinship that gave him the courage to face Darron and his mother, as well as forgive them for keeping his parentage a secret. Of course, Brian wasn't the only one his mother had been keeping in the dark. She had neglected to mention Brian's real father to her husband as well. As a result, she convinced Brian to stick around Hallandale while she tended to things on the homefront. Well, he might have been able to forgive Darron for everything that happened, but living with the man was a different issue in its entirety. So Brian began looking for his own place, and discovered a "Roommates Wanted" ad for the abandon Preston Powers Mansion. Icing on the cake, his new friend Jennifer was also interested in living in the mansion. The new owner, Dylan McCloud, took an immediate liking to them and asked them to move in immediately. A few weeks later, just as Brian and Darron were beginning to make inroads, the scandal behind Brian's parentage hit the fan. Believing Darron to be responsible, an angry Brian cut all ties with him. Soon after, Darron would rekindle his friendship with Widlin Pierre. He would also be the first to hear her shocking confession: she murdered a man by the name of Ralph Lynchetterette over 13 years ago.
