Previously on “The Mysteries of Our Lives”: Spring of Devastation
Rochelle: You know what I'm referring to, so why don't you stop tiptoeing around the subject-- why don't you stop being a coward and tell me the truth. (~)
Brock: What's that?
Dana: (bewildered by the face of the card) A plant.
Samantha: The what?
Dr. Mayfield: The azalea. (~)
Shanna: Let me tell you something about my husband, Officer Ruiz. He's no deserter and he's man enough to stand up to his problems. (~)
Brian: You're right. You don't need to justify anything to me...
Jennifer: (noticing the bouquet of flowers Brian brought in) God Romeo, will you ever quit?
***Jennifer: (opening the door, the gusty winds blows a few strands of hair from her face) Hey, I wasn't expecting you tonight.
Nia: Well, I thought you might be in need of ice cream and a movie. (she proceeds inside the mansion, turning back to her friend as Jenni closes the door behind her) Besides, I don't know anyone else in town.
Jennifer: Ah.
Nia: So are we alone?
Jennifer: Well, my roommate Dylan is upstairs, but I don't think he'll be much of a bother.
Nia: The same Dylan that terrorized you for months?
Jennifer: (caught off guard by the question) Yeah, but we're finally getting past that.
Nia: Why? (Jennifer is thrown by the inquiry) Why even bother? Why are you living under the same roof with this guy?
(<- El Club de Moniasis ->)
Garrettlyn: (spies Brian entering the club and greets him with a smile) Well, if it isn't the man of the hour.
Brian: (plopping down on a stool in front of the bar) Don't you mean the loser of the hour?
Garrettlyn: (her smile fades) I take it things didn't go well with Jennifer.
Brian: Things were a complete bust.
(<- Springfield, Massachusetts: Springfield Medical Hospital ->)
Samantha: You continue to amaze me at the lengths you will go to dissuade me from pursuing this anecdote.
Dr. Mayfield: I could care less if you pursue this anecdote, I just don't want to have to live with your blood on my hands.
Samantha: Don't worry, I have no intention on dying.
Dr. Mayfield: Intentions or not, if you approach this plant the wrong way, one false move and you will die.
Samantha: and that would solve all your problems, wouldn't it doctor?
Dr. Mayfield: What? I am trying to ensure your safety.
Samantha: No, you're trying to cover your tracks because I know there is something very wrong going on in this hospital.
(<- Coral Springs, Nevada: Rachel's home ->)
Rochelle: You're married? You're married to that-- to that bastard?
Rachel: He has a name.
Rochelle: I don't give a damn what his name is. How could you do this? How could you marry that bastard after everything that he has done to this family? To my father?
Rachel: Leo is not the reason for what went wrong between me and your father.
Rochelle: You're right. All our problems exist because of one person and one person only. (she moves away from her mother's glare and closer to the exit of the kitchen, her back turned to her mother) My god, I've been a fool this whole time.
Rachel: No. (she attempts to explain, extending a hand onto Rochelle's shoulder, but Rochelle pulls away)
Rochelle: Don't. (she turns back to her mother) Don't ever touch me again.
***************************************************THEME SONG******************************************************
Rachel: (she follows her daughter into the living room) I know that you're angry, but if you would--
Rochelle: (intercedes, turning to face her mother) You're damn right, I'm angry. You're involved-- no, you're married to the man you left my father for.
Rachel: and you still haven't gotten past that, after all these years, which is why I deliberately held back on telling you because I knew this is how you would react.
Rochelle: Well, congratulations mother, you were right. I will never accept that man as part of this family, never!
(<- Showtime Limits Agency ->)
Kyle: (looking up from his computer screen, he spies Lacreasha at the doorway, wearing a very elegant blouse and some jeans) Hey, what brings you here?
Lacreasha: (waltzing into his office) Well, I got kind of bored at home waiting. How long are you going to be?
Kyle: Hard to say, I have a few more stories to edit after I finish this memo.
Lacreasha: (she walks around to the back of his chair) It can't wait until morning. (she starts massaging his neck)
Kyle: No, unfortunately, it cannot.
Lacreasha: (she unbuttons the top button of his shirt and starts running her hand down his chest) and there is nothing I can do to convince you.
Kyle: (flustered) You're not being fair. (his body fights the inner tingles)
Lacreasha: What's the fun in being fair? (She removes her hand from his chest and starts blowing in his ear) Besides, if you want me to stop, (she kisses both sides of his neck) I'll stop.
Kyle: (turning away from his computer) and what if I don't want you to stop?
Lacreasha: Well, then... (She starts unbuttoning his shirt as she captivates him in a lip lock)
Kyle: (he struggles to speak as his lips remain glued to hers) I'm never going to meet my deadline if we keep doing this.
Lacreasha: (she pulls away, loosening her blouse, which only intensify his desire) You can stop anytime.
Kyle: I know. (he lifts her up in his arm and carries her over onto the desk, placing her down, he removes his shirts and starts making out with her)
Leigha: (barging into the office, her eyes are drawn to the papers in her hands at first) Sorry Kyle, it took me a little longer to locate this -- (her eyes become fixated upon the sight of Kyle and Lacreasha on the desk. Kyle tuning into her voice, raises his head up toward her direction, giving her a faint smile as he remains half-dressed on top of his fiancée) source!
***Leigha: (Kyle, realizing he's still on top of his fiancée, quickly moves from the desk and locates his shirt) I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt.
Kyle: You're not, my fiancée and I were just momentarily distracted. (he tries to force a smile as he buttons his shirt) You've met my fiancée, right?
Leigha: Yes! We met briefly at your welcome back party. Nice to see you again.
Lacreasha: Same. Why don't I let you two discuss business while I scrounge up some coffee or something? Would you both care for anything?
Kyle: Maybe some water. (he laughs)
Leigha: No thanks, I'm fine.
Lacreasha: All right. (She walks as fast as she can to the exit, closing the door behind her. Once shut, she lets out a deep breath)
Leigha: Well, I hope I didn't make your fiancée too uncomfortable.
Kyle: No, (he sits back down in the chair at his desk) Lacreasha is the last person to get uncomfortable. So what did you find on this source?
Leigha: You're not going to believe it. (Kyle's right eyebrow raises)
(<- Hemmings Cottage ->)
Shanna: (strolls toward the door as the incessant knocking continues) Hold your horses. Who the heck -- (she says to herself upon opening her door) Derek!
Derek: We need to discuss some things about my wife.
Shanna: Well, if that's the reason you came here, you've wasted a visit. (she attempts to close the door, but his iron fist causes it to swing right back)
Derek: I'm not going anywhere, not until you hear what I have to say. (he storms his way inside, nearly shoving her aside)
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Dana: (flips over the card again and lets out an exasperated sigh) It keeps popping up. A plant? I just don't know what to make of this.
Brock: I do, its obvious the fates above are laughing at me. (he raises from his seat)
Dana: What?
Brock: Look what I am doing. I'm searching for answers to my wife's whereabouts through a bunch of cards. If I want to find my wife, I'll do it the right way. I'll find her myself.
Matthew: Hey -- (Brock brushes past him. Matthew then proceeds over to Dana) What's up with your brother?
Dana: He didn't like what the cards had to tell him.
Matthew: (half grin) What?
Dana: My sister-in-law seems to have vanished without a trace and I was hoping my cards would give me some answers, but it seems to have only made things worse.
(<- El Club de Moniasis ->)
Garrettlyn: (she thanks the woman for agreeing to look after the bar as she walks over to Brian's table and takes a seat) So what happened when you went and saw Jennifer? How did she react when you told her you loved her?
Brian: I never had the chance.
Garrettlyn: What? I don't understand.
Brian: It was pretty clear to me the moment I entered the mansion that Jennifer's heart had already been taken.
Garrettlyn: Wait, wait. How did you come to this realization?
Brian: I caught her in the afterglow of just having sex with Romeo Sullivan.
Garrettlyn: Hmm...
Brian: Yeah, and she made it perfectly clear to me that its something I should get use to.
***Jennifer: What do you mean, why am I living here?
Nia: Exactly what the question is asking.
Jennifer: (grits her teeth) This is my home, Nia.
Nia: and you're not cringing at the thought of living under the same roof with some pervert.
Jennifer: I'd admit, to some outsider, Dylan's behavior would seem at least bizarre. I mean, it took me a while before I could warm up to him again. But I realize it wasn't healthy to hold onto those feelings.
Nia: Then you should have moved out. How can you live under the same roof, be in the same room with him, knowing the sick things he has done? (Jennifer is speechless to the inquiry)
(<- El Club de Moniasis ->)
Garrettlyn: Let's take a step back here.
Brian: Why? Will things look any different?
Garrettlyn: They might.
Brian: I saw her standing half naked in our living room and he wasn't too far behind, and he was wearing even less.
Garrettlyn: My point is that it could have been a casual fling.
Brian: A casual fling? (he steps up from the table) Jennifer doesn't strike me as the type to just sleep with anyone.
Garrettlyn: She's not, and he's not anyone. He's her ex, there might be unresolved feelings. Doesn't mean that its love and until you know for sure, it serves no purpose for you to assume otherwise.
(<- Coral Springs, Nevada: Rachel's home ->)
Rachel: Do you hear yourself? The venom pouring out of your soul?
Rochelle: Well, forgive me mother, the man is responsible for every ounce of pain my father had to endure because you both couldn't keep your hands off each other. (she grimaces a look of disgust)
Rachel: There is much more to this story--
Rochelle: I don't want to hear it. (she covers her left ear) I don't want to hear anymore of your explanations.
Rachel: Then you need to understand the whole story. Our problems -- your father and I, did not start and end with Leo Stone.
Rochelle: and why should I trust a word that comes out of your mouth?
Rachel: You were starting too. We were starting to bond like mother and daughter.
Rochelle: (grins slightly) Yeah, you almost fooled me, but once again, I've been forced to open my eyes. You have lied, you have deceived and you've hurt everyone I ever cared about. So you tell me, why should I ever trust you again?
(<- Hallandale, Massachusetts: Leysdale Hospital ->)
Matthew: I'm sure that your brother understands that you were trying to help.
Dana: Yeah, what good that did, and I still cannot figure out what this card means.
Matthew: Have you tried overlooking it and pulling over another?
Dana: Well, I was so sure it was a miscommunication, that I re-dealt the deck about five times. But you're right, let's see what else the universe would like to convey. (she pulls over another card) "The answer."
Matthew: Perhaps the plant is the answer to the problem.
Dana: That's a possibility, but sometimes the cards have a more symbolic nature. It could also mean the outcome or the result.
Matthew: Which would mean you would have to pull another card, so why aren't you?
Dana: I'm not exactly anxious to see what is says.
Matthew: You already know?
Dana: I have a horrible suspicion. (she pauses, looking at Matthew before pulling the card. She cringes away upon seeing the face, for she knows it all too well) It wouldn't be a reading without it.
(<- Springfield, Massachusetts: Springfield Medical Hospital ->)
Woman: Wow, you look stressed.
Dr. Mayfield: It's been an eventful evening.
Woman: (getting up from the couch) I'll say, you were gone for almost three hours.
Dr. Mayfield: I think you were right about Mrs. Lombard, she could be a huge problem for this hospital.
Woman: What happened? Did she say something?
Dr. Mayfield: Nothing specific, but she is definitely suspicious.
Woman: Well, we did a pretty good job burying all the evidence.
Dr. Mayfield: Yeah, well, if she starts digging for the anecdote in the wrong places, she might stumble onto you know what.
Woman: and that could be the end as we know it. So how are we going to stop this Lombard woman?
Dr. Mayfield: Not to worry, you leave Mrs. Lombard to me.
***Rachel: (speaking to Rochelle's back once again) It sounds like you have already made up your mind. You're ready to throw away all the progress we made.
Rochelle: (speaking face to face once again) I didn't throw it away, you're the one that carried along with Leo Stone behind my back and when it finally looked like I stumbled onto the truth, you still tried to lie your way out of it. Trust isn't one-sided mother.
Rachel: and if I had trusted you, if I had told you the truth, can you honestly say you would have stuck around and given me another chance? You just admitted not too long ago that you would never accept Leo as part of my life. I hardly think you would have been willing to break bread with him everyday at the breakfast table.
Rochelle: Are you trying to blame me for your lies?
Rachel: No, I realize I was selfish. (Rochelle turns away) I just wanted to have a relationship with my daughter and have someone to love too. (Rochelle turns back, her eyes dead ahead on her mother, but no words can escape)
(<- Hemmings Cottage ->)
Shanna: What is this about Derek? I don't have all night.
Derek: Do you know what my wife has been through tonight?
Shanna: (her eyes shift through her socket) Do I care?
Derek: You should, she has been preoccupied with your pain, your lost, she can barely even sleep. I mean, this woman is tearing up inside and because of the deep kind-hearted person she is, she is able to understand your grief. (Shanna is not at all moved by the speech) She sees that you're worried about your husband, about his safety.
Shanna: Please spare me your delusions about this sainted version of Shalia. Have you forgotten who you're talking to? I know that your wife is nothing but a lying bitch. Now if she is having trouble sleeping at night, maybe it's because her crimes are finally starting to get to her, but I assure you it is not because of some misplaced compassion for me.
***Derek: I think you need to take a step back here and analyze the evidence, stop attacking my wife.
Shanna: I admire your loyalty to your wife Derek, really, I do. But what about your best friend? What about my husband?
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Crystal: (approaching the duo in the hospital lobby) Hey, I got your message.
Matthew: Wow, you got here pretty quickly.
Crystal: Well, it sounded pretty urgent, so I came as soon as I could. What's going on?
Dana: We need your help... in a psychic kind of way. (Crystal returns a puzzled look)
(<- Preston Powers Mansion ->)
Jennifer: I don't understand why we're talking about this. You came here to watch a movie, so lets sit down and enjoy some ice cream while we're at it.
Nia: You expect me to watch a movie here?
Jennifer: That was the plan when you came here, wasn't it?
Nia: That's before I realize a pervert was a couple feet away.
Jennifer: Nia, Dylan was not himself when he did those things. He's really an okay guy.
Nia: Well, you can be okay with him, but I'm not. So I am leaving. (Nia abruptly heads for the stairs and by the time Jenni calls out her name, Nia is out of the door. Jenni remains in shock of the whole scene)
(<- Showtime Limits Agency ->)
Kyle: Thanks for getting this information to me so quickly. (he says, getting up from the couch as she grabs her purse)
Leigha: No problem. If that's all, then I'll see you guys tomorrow night.
Kyle: Tomorrow night?
Leigha: At Monte Carlos. (she smiles)
Kyle: (bewildered) I'm sorry?
Leigha: You mean, Anton and Malina didn't tell you?
Kyle: (shakes his head slightly) No, tell us what. (Lacreasha moves over to his side)
Leigha: I guess they forgot to mention it in all the excitement. We're throwing you both an engagement party.
Lacreasha: That's so nice of you.
Leigha: No problem, really. We just hope you guys will be there and smiling.
Lacreasha: I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Kyle: Yeah, how many times do I get to carry this gorgeous woman on my arm? (he kisses her)
Leigha: All right then, I'll see you both tomorrow evening.
Kyle: All right, drive safe.
Leigha: I will. (She heads toward the door, sharing her goodbyes once more before exiting)
Lacreasha: She's really a nice lady.
Kyle: Yeah, Leigh's great, but right now, I'm looking at someone even greater. (he puts his hands around her waist)
Lacreasha: (she smiles, flipping her hair back) Really, and who would that be?
Kyle: You! (he smiles and then kisses her)
(<- Coral Springs, Nevada: Rachel's home ->)
Rachel: You're quiet, that's almost as bad as your yelling.
Rochelle: I don't know what else to say, mother. I don't know if there is anything left to say. I just need some time alone. (She walks off, leaving her mother alone to reflect)I
Rachel: (holding her fist together) Please let there still be hope, god. Please let there be hope.
Next:
Derek: Don't you dare question my loyalty to Ben. This is about your ridiculous vendetta against my wife and it has got to stop. (~)
Matthew: What if this doesn't work?
Dana: That's why we have to have faith.
