Previously on “The Mysteries of Our Lives”: Winter of Forbidden Ecstasy
Garrettlyn: He knows too much about me for my own comfort and… Dylan’s going to answer for it! (~)
Dana: The shooter… there was something about his eyes. (~)
Billy: No, it couldn’t be, it can’t be him. (~)
Liam: Widlin Pierre’s the surprise witness.
***Dylan: (coming down the stairs to find Garrett pacing the floor back and forth) To what do I owe the dubious pleasure?
Garrettlyn: (in haste and frustration) What the hell do you think you are doing to my life?
(<- St. Christ Cathedral ->)
Matthew: Hey, I thought I’d find you here at the church.
Dana: Really, any reason you were tracking me down?
Matthew: No, I just made a couple of changes in my life. I quit working at the station, yesterday.
Dana: But I thought you loved that job.
Matthew: Maybe, maybe not, but I couldn’t necessarily continue working there as long as my brother is lurking around.
Dana: Don’t you think this void between you and your brother has gone on long enough?
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Crystal: (racing down the hall nearly bumping into him) Enrique!
Enrique: Hi Crystal, you haven’t seen Billy today, have you?
Crystal: No, I was just on my way to his room.
Enrique: Then I’m glad I caught you because there is something I need to discuss with you before you see him. (Crystal remains baffled by the statement)
(<- Hallandale Courthouse ->)
Judge: Ms. Gannon, I do hope your last witness is ready this morning.
Joy: Yes, your honor, the defense-- we call Widlin Pierre to the stand. (Court murmurs)
Malina: What?
Royce: Great, just what we need, the Pierre’s at a murder trial.
Judge: (pounding gavel) Order in this court. Now Counsel, please proceed with your questioning.
Joy: Ms. Pierre, could you please inform the jury of your whereabouts the night of Leonard’s murder? Remember that you are under oath.
Widlin: I went to see Leonard that night. I went to his hotel room.
Kavina: (shocked expression) Oh my god!
*Theme Song*
Joy: Ms. Pierre, would you mind repeating that for the jury?
Widlin: Actually, I do mind! I think I said it clearly enough the first time.
Joy: Your honor?
Judge: Ms. Pierre, please do as counsel has requested of you.
Widlin: (loud tone) I was in Leonard Stone’s hotel room the night he was murdered!
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Crystal: Why did you want to talk with me before I saw Billy?
Enrique: Because what I have to say concerns him. You’re aware of the other day when I questioned him about new information I had on his shooter.
Crystal: Yeah, but I never got the chance to ask Billy what it was.
Enrique: Dana Lombard recalled some important features about the shooter. However, when I questioned Billy about it, he acted as if the description didn’t ring any bells.
Crystal: So you think he’s lying? Why would he do that, he wants to find this shooter as much as the rest of us.
Enrique: Yeah, well, I got the distinct feeling he was holding back information.
(<- St. Christ Cathedral ->)
Matthew: I didn’t choose this battle, my brother did. Until he can be honest with me about the past, I can’t trust him or be around him.
Dana: So you quit a job you love?
Matthew: There are other jobs.
Dana: Yeah, but you only have one brother, so is one silly disagreement really worth throwing all that away.
Matthew: You know I can’t answer that, but you might do well to ask my brother, after all, he’s the one that made that choice. (turns away as Dana ponders the thought in sorrow)
***Dylan: Are you really upset or do you just need to use that as your reason for coming to see me.
Garrettlyn: I don’t need to stage scenes, my feelings are very clear. Who do you think you are confiding in strangers about the personal details of my life?
Dylan: I have yet to realize what you are talking about.
Garrettlyn: Some little friend of yours or whatever he wants to call himself confronted me. He seems to think you use to work for him. Anyhow, the creep was trying to hit on me and I told him to bug off and then to my amazement, he calls me by my name. Here I am wondering how he knows my name and then he says, “you’d be surprise how much I know about you”, do you know how startling that is to hear from some stranger? That some stranger knows more about you than you know about him, isn’t that unnerving? (Dylan completely speechless as to what to say)
(<- St. Christ Cathedral ->)
Javier: (walking towards the statute of holiness) Oh holy god, I know I am the last one you want to be hearing a prayer from, but I didn’t know where else to turn. (lost and sorrowful tone)
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Crystal: Are you sure your brain isn’t working overtime?
Enrique: I have been doing this for such a long time that I know when to trust my gut and it’s telling me Billy knows something or think he does, but he’s not sharing it. Why, I don’t know. That’s why I wanted to catch you before you saw Billy because maybe now you can help us get it out of him. (Crystal thrown by the idea)
(<- Hallandale Courthouse ->)
Joy: What events happened prior to your visiting Leonard Stone’s hotel room?
Widlin: I don’t see how that’s any of your business or why it is important since you already have the killer in--
Judge: Ms. Pierre, you will limit your comments to an answer that suffices the question or your next outburst will result in a contempt charge. (Widlin responds with a bitter shrug)
Widlin: I found that my safe had been broken into that night and I had reason to suspect Leonard.
Joy: That must have upset you, perhaps enough to go out and kill Leonard Stone?
Widlin: Yeah, well, someone already beat me to it.
Joy: Maybe!
Kavina: Damn, I have got to put a stop to this.
***Lournings: Your honor, I move that counsel’s last remark be strike from the record. We already know that Kavina Shah is the one that murdered Leonard Stone.
Joy: and no one is denying that, your honor. But I am going to show that if my client had not killed Mr. Stone, someone else would have.
Judge: All right, I will allow Ms. Gannon to continue, but fair warning, your approaching thin ice, so get to the point.
Joy: Widlin Pierre, you testified earlier that after realizing your safe had been broken into and assuming Leonard Stone was the culprit, you went to his hotel room?
Widlin: Yes!
Joy: Did you get the chance to confront Mr. Stone?
Widlin: No, but I heard the gun shot and I didn’t-- (Kavina faints alarming the court)
(<- St. Christ Cathedral ->)
Javier: I don’t like what I have become. I never thought I could hate someone so much that I could wish them dead. Let along go out and try to kill them myself. (pondering after a couple moments of anguish) How could I have been so desperate to take another life? Of course I know, it was because I wanted Crystal and I was willing to go to any lengths to get her, even committing a sin. There is no justification for what I did, I know that!
Matthew: I don’t want to talk about my brother anymore, so let’s change the subject.
Dana: Well, there is a decision we need to make and frankly, I think it’s time.
Matthew: Time for what?
Dana: I think its time we tell Crystal what we found out in the Palisades! Now that Billy is recuperating and the cops have my lead about his shooter, Crystal plate should be getting a lot lighter.
Matthew: Wait a minute, what lead?
Dana: I remembered some features about the shooter.
Matthew: (Javier walking away from the angel) Do you think it’s enough that you would be able to recognize the shooter again if you saw him?
***Dana: Would I recognize him again? I don’t know, it all depends on the eyes! (Javier runs by nearly knocking her over)
Dana: (gasp, scoffs as she regains her balance) Watch where you’re going!
Matthew: I wonder where he was in a rush to? (Dana looks at Matthew frazzled by what just occurred)
Billy: Hey, I thought you were supposed to be here half an hour ago.
Crystal: Actually, I was, but I ran into Enrique and he wanted to talk to me before I went in to see you.
Billy: What about?
Crystal: Apparently, he thinks you know more about the shooter’s identity than you’re saying, is it true?
Dylan: I realize that you’re upset and frightened, but I never meant for any of this to happen.
Garrettlyn: You never mean for anything to happen, do you Dylan? I don’t want to hear your apologies or sermons because quite frankly, they mean nothing to me. All I want is for you to keep your little friends away from me.
Dylan: How am I supposed to do that when I don’t even know whom you are referring to?
Garretltlyn: Dark hair, rugged look, mid 20’s, dark-colored eyes--
Dylan: (mutters) Romeo!
Garrettlyn: Who?
Dylan: No one you should concern yourself with!
Garrettlyn: I’m asking more for Jennifer since he’s made interest in her, so why don’t you tell her whom this guy is? Do something right for a change (walking to the door and closing it behind her as Dylan makes a deep sigh upon her departure).
Malina: Why do you think Kavina fainted earlier?
Anton: I don’t know, but she seems fine now. Although she’s always been fine.
Malina: What are you saying?
Anton: What I have been saying since this whole bizarre chapter started, something is not right here.
Kavina: (noticing Widlin walking into the restroom) I need to wash my face and clean up a bit.
Joy: Sure, but make it quick!
Kavina: (entering the restroom, catching Widlin looking at herself in the mirror, checks the stall to make sure no one is around) I am going to make this quick. You cannot continue to testify!
*Stay in Tuned for Scenes*
Next:
Widlin: Then you are asking me to commit perjury? (~)
Crystal: Is it true, do you know who shot you?
Javier: (both turning to his voice) Crystal, Billy! (~)
Dylan: It’s time I give you the whole story.
Jennifer: No!
