Previously on "The Mysteries of Our Lives": Winter of Forbidden Ecstasy
Romain: North Dakota is no longer a problem. (~)
Rochelle: I am really interested in hearing Royce's answer to the D.A's question earlier-- would you have stood by and watched me die knowing who really killed Leonard? (~)
Dana: Those were some pretty harsh words that Leigha dished out.
Brock: Nothing Leigha Gray says can get to me, I know that I am partly the blame for my marriage almost falling apart for not being honest with Samantha. I just cannot believe that Ralph is getting sucked back into her web. (~)
Anton: Oh, I understand it perfectly, I just don't understand the part where its coming out of your mouth! (~)
Robin: You're talking to me as if I am incapable of being satisfied.
Samantha: I'm sorry, but that's way you're acting!
***Robin: You know what, I resent that, I came to you for advice, not criticism and that’s not something I would expect from a friend.
Samantha: Well, this is a friend trying to help you because frankly, I don’t like what I’m seeing. (Robin turns away in awe of Samantha’s words)
(<- Hallandale Courthouse ->)
Beau: Sometimes words are just words and there are no hidden strings attached.
Anton: Yeah, but we’re talking about you and unfortunately, I have reach the point where I cannot take anything you say at face value.
Beau: Or maybe you have just reached the point where you’d prefer us to be enemies.
Anton: I am not the one that created this situation here, you did when you decided to fake your death and then come back years later and seek revenge. So tell me, with that kind of rap sheet, would you believe me if you were in my position?
Enrique: So have you discover anything interesting in the Billy Clyde shooting?
Diego: Actually--
Dana: (interceding, casually stepping in front of Diego) Lieutenant Rivera, I’m sorry, but there’s something important I have to discuss with you.
Enrique: How important?
Dana: I remember something about the night Billy Clyde was shot.
Royce: I would not have stood by and watch you die.
Rochelle: What does that mean exactly? What, that you would have told the truth or simply told yourself my execution was not happening?
Royce: (slight pause) I would have told the truth.
Rochelle: I don’t believe you. I think you would have let me die if it meant protecting Kavina!
Royce: How can you say that? You know that you and Kavina are my dearest friends, I would protect you both.
Rochelle: But you couldn’t protect us both and in the end, I was the one you sacrificed. I was the one that didn’t matter; my innocence didn’t matter to you. So tell me, how were you able to live with yourself these past months? (Royce remains quiet, feeling quite ashamed as Kendall watches the scene in the foreground)
(<- Lincoln Manners Resort ->)
Romain: (standing in the doorway) Oh, you made it.
Sherri: Well, I never miss a chance for a man to cook me dinner, especially an “I’m sorry” dinner.
Romain: Well, why don’t you sit down because dinner’s just about ready and I would like to personally serve you a sample of tonight’s dish.
Sherri: I’ll be right here. (Romain walks into the kitchen as the phone rings. After two rings, Sherri picks up the phone) Hello? Who may I ask is calling?
Romain: Hey, someone asking for me?
Sherri: Oh, it’s for you, all right-- Someone from North Dakota!
*Theme Song*
Romain: (hint of nervousness, but he finally speaks) North Dakota?
Sherri: (strong aggressive tone as she drops the phone on the sofa and walks off to the side) You might want to get the phone!
Romain: (walks to the phone hesitantly, but then finally picks up the receiver with a discontent expression and answers) Hello!
(<- Hallandale Courthouse ->)
Royce: Your allowing what the D.A. said to take control of your thinking?
Rochelle: Or maybe there thoughts that were always there and I felt the need to ignore. But you’re right, the D.A. has relinquished these thoughts and I, for one, am going to face them and that starts with you and what you have done.
Royce: The only thing I did was protect a woman who tried to protect you the night she killed Leonard.
Rochelle: So that’s what you convinced yourself of so you are able to sleep at night? (Royce scoffs with laughter) Does this seem amusing to you?
Royce: Believe me, there is nothing amusing about this situation. The D.A. is twisting my faith in justice to discredit my testimony against the state because that’s the reason I chose to protect Kavina, because I believed justice would prevail and you’d be free and Kavina would never have to pay for ridding the world of Leonard Stone.
Rochelle: I would believe that except we both know that is a load of bull. If there was real justice, I would have never been on trial, Royce and if I recall, your testimony was not the one that saved me from being convicted.
Royce: Obviously you’re too emotionally involved to listen to a word I have to say and far to driven by the D.A.’s speculations, so believe what you want, I am not having this debate a minute longer! (Rochelle looks lividly on as Royce departs, Kendall soon follows)
Enrique: Okay, what exactly is it that you remember about that night?
Dana: Well, you know, I really didn’t think anything of it at the time because I was so preoccupied with the fact that Crystal or Billy might have been hurt, it just slip my mind. When I yelled out for Crystal to look out, the shooter took a glance at me and I saw his eyes and those are eyes I will never forget.
Enrique: You said his? Are you telling me you are certain the shooter was a man?
Beau: But I am not in your position, so the questions’ irrelevant.
Anton: But if you were in my position, wouldn’t you find it a bit odd for a man who has made it clear under no uncertain terms he despises you to suddenly have this attack of family unity.
Beau: Well, it wasn’t a decision I reached on my own. Malina helped a little in convincing me that holding onto this vendetta was unhealthy for me, as well as everyone else. I guess some of the things she had to say made sense.
Anton: So what do you think, you’ve been awfully quiet?
Malina: I think maybe he’s on the level and if he’s not, then--
Anton: Then I’m allowing him to use my brother in whatever sick plans he has roaming through his head.
***Beau: I have made it no secret how I feel about you and if I have plans for you, rest assure, you’ll be the first to know. Unlike you, I don’t cower away.
Anton: So much for a truce if you’re still throwing my affair with your fiancée in my face.
Beau: Or maybe I have realized that I am fighting against a wall here that you need to hate me, is that it? Is your life really that boring that you would prefer to be enemies with me than call a truce?
Dana: Yeah, the shooter was definitely a man, but there was something about him though, something about his eyes, as if he had been pushed directly over the edge.
Diego: and you got this all from a momentary glance?
Dana: Well, yeah, I’m a pretty perceptional person.
Diego: (thinking for a moment in awe) Obviously!
Dana: Well, I will excuse myself, I have imposed on you both long enough.
Enrique: Alright, but before you go, there was one thing you didn’t mention.
Dana: What was that?
Enrique: His eye color, I assume you got a good look.
Dana: Yes, they were unmistakably brown.
(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Robin: You don’t like what you’re seeing and what exactly is it you’re seeing, Samantha?
Samantha: You are questioning how much your husband loves you and you have no reason to. You are Jay’s future now, forget about his past.
Robin: That’s much easier said than done, believe me.
Samantha: I know, when Brock’s past came back to bite him in the rear end, I couldn’t even bring myself to look at him. But we got over that obstacle and--
Robin: (interceding) These are two completely different situations Samantha, you’re not competing with a ghost. This is no obstacle for me, it’s a losing battle!
***Samantha: I don’t want to hear you say that again!
Robin: Excuse me?
Samantha: You’re obviously going through a trial of emotions here, questioning the solidity of everything strong around you – our friendship, your marriage – but if you really think about this, you will realize you’re just being silly. Your marriage is stronger than ever, our friendship is forever growing and no one, no ghost or anyone, is going to prove otherwise.
Robin: Thank you Samantha, that’s exactly what I needed to hear.
Samantha: That’s what friends are for! (Samantha and Robin then join in a hug)
(<- Hallandale Courthouse ->)
Anton: Don’t you dare try to guilt-trip me into feeling like the bad guy.
Beau: I don’t have to do anything; you already know what you are. (turning to Malina before pacing off) I tried Malina, I tried and you saw what happened.
Anton: (shouting with a look of contempt as Beau walks off) Yeah, she realized that I wasn’t as gullible as you’d like her to believe. (turning to Malina) Whose side are you on?
(<- Lincoln Manners Resort ->)
Sherri: So are you going to tell me about that call you receive from North Dakota or do I just sit through dinner wondering?
Romain: I’m glad you decided to stay.
Sherri: In other words, no!
Romain: It’s a rather complicated situation. It concerns a part of my life that I have never shared with anyone.
Sherri: Well, I have all night.
Romain: and I didn’t want to make tonight about the past, but moving on towards the future. Tonight, I want to make our relationship official.
Sherri: Official, what is that suppose to mean?
Romain: (hesitant) I wanted to tell you I’m falling in love with you and I hope you are with me. (Sherri looks on skeptical of what Romain has just reveal)
***Sherri: (the draft of quietness finally ends) Do you really think some proclamation of love is going to make me forget what’s going on here?
Romain: What?
Sherri: You were on the verge of a defense here about your past and then you tell me about some aspiration of love to blindside me. I got to hand it to you though, pretty slick, but I am one woman who will not be taken in again.
Kendall: That scene between you and Rochelle got pretty ugly.
Royce: I know and I have a feeling it’s not going to get any better.
Diego: So what are you going to do with that information Dana Lombard gave you? Start looking for every brown-eyed, long dark-haired man in Massachusetts?
Enrique: Maybe not!
Diego: What are you thinking?
Enrique: That Dana Lombard may have helped us out more than she realizes.
Diego: Meaning?
Enrique: Meaning we haven’t been looking at this picture clear enough. She said, she saw a look in the shooter’s eyes as if he had been pushed right over the edge.
Diego: Who knows what she saw?
Enrique: Well, what if she is right, what would drive a man over the edge?
Diego: I don’t know-- jealousy!
Enrique: Or complete and utter hatred! Whatever it is, it looks like Billy has one hell of an enemy.
