She's blond, beautiful, a model and unfortunately for Danielle Marquez, a little unhinged.  Vanessa grew up in a small town with her single mother, deeply influenced by the life of the rich and famous.  Her father had remarried before she was born and moved away to another city.  Despite expressing a desire to see her father countless times to her mother, Vanessa's mother hated the idea and urged Vanessa to forget about him.  However, she couldn't forget and the longing only made her feel even emptier inside.  That all changed when she met the boy next door-- Lucien Cane-Mieraves.  The two became thick as thieves in no time.

Shortly before graduating high school, Vanessa learned the whereabouts of her father.  She then wrestled with the decision to see her father after all this time, especially since he didn't appear to express any avid interest in knowing her.  She ultimately decided against it, focusing on where she would attend college.  After finishing her degree, she was targeted by several reputable modeling agencies, including Nichols' Beauticon, where she met Michelle Dientes Alvarez, Danielle's half sister.  Her mother died soon after she landed her first gig at Nichols; Lucien was there to console her.  It was then Vanessa tried to reach out to her father by calling the number her mother had left her, but her father callously turned her away.  She hasn't tried making communication with her father sense. Instead, she refocused her attention on her career, which hit a dry spell because of the bad publicity concerning Shaquanna Nichols' involvement in Kasey Alvarez's murder. Michelle, feeling partly to blame, signed on Vanessa as one of her signature models when she started Hunks & Beauty Fashions.  When Michelle started scouting for male models, Vanessa suggested Lucien.  They work together for a while, but a clause in her contract with Nichols' Beauticon prevented Vanessa from continuing her work in Michelle's latest campaign. Thus, Michelle needed to look for another lead model… Danielle.

Vanessa and Danielle hit it off nicely before she learned that Danielle would be working closely with Lucien.  Then things changed, especially when she took note of the chemistry that Lucien and Danielle had on camera.  She begin to suspect that Danielle was enjoying the photo shoots a lot more than she should be and proceeded to forewarn her not to go after Lucien.  Danielle took the warning lightly until a second altercation left her flat on her rear end.  The two have butted heads several times following this incident.  The latest confrontation came when Vanessa caught Lucien and Danielle kissing.  Danielle, growing tired of Vanessa's harassment, told Vanessa in no uncertain terms to wake up and face the fact that she [Vanessa] and Lucien were not a couple.  Danielle's harsh truths coupled with nightmares of Lucien and Danielle getting together prompted Vanessa to seek other means of getting rid of Danielle -- amphetamines from a black market drug dealer. 

With the amp, Vanessa has been slowly upping Danielle's dosage in an effort to keep the model high on life and unable to stop and think for a second when she's in the zone.  However, could Vanessa's sick plan to control the naive Danielle lead to consequences she hasn't even began to fathom?
