Taneia is a woman that speaks her mind and doesn't give a damn who hears it. She believes in fighting for what you want, and doesn't appreciate when anyone threatens to take that right away from her, causing her to react rather impulsively sometimes..
Before going into business with Crystal Perez, Taneia became involved with Alexander Pierre's estranged son, Kyle. The two had a worldwind romance that was the news of the town for months. Of course, how can anything concerning the illegitimate son of Alexander Pierre not be news? At the risk of attracting more media attention to themselves, days following the launch of Taneia's new business venture with Crystal Perez, Kyle proposed and she happily accepted. Life seemed pretty good for Taneia with a new business venture, a new fiancè, and an old friend by her side. Unfortunately, it wouldn't last long.
The night before their apparent wedding, Kyle backed out with no explanation, leaving Taneia heartbroken. To make matters worse, he left Hallandale under a cloud of mystery, never to darken her path again until nearly two years later. As a result of Kyle's speedy disappearance, Taneia suffered constant scrutiny in the press, being labeled the woman who drove Kyle Pierre out of town. Her ex, Darron Wolek, was also released from prison and subsequently hired by Crystal as a seasonal employee for T.E.C.'s Restaurante despite Taneia's objections, which were primarily personal. Crystal felt bad for him as he was unable to get a fair chance from anyone else. Although reluctant herself, she agreed to hire him on a seasonal basis so that he could prove himself worthy over time. Oddly enough, Darron never became a full-fledge employee of T.E.C.'s Restaurante, but remained a confidante for Crystal until he got involved with Widlin Pierre. It is likely his interest in the restaurateur business ended there.
Over time, Taneia, herself, became withdrawn from her job, and began taking frequent breaks, rather than bothering herself with the day to day demands of her customers. Crystal was not pleased as business was not particularly thriving, so the last thing they needed to do was drive away customers. Growing tired of Crystal's incessant nagging, Taneia made a call to their silent partner, Earl Pryce, with the intention of having Crystal kicked out. Earl, however, was at the end of his rope with their constant bickering and when he learned of Taneia's intentions, decided he had enough and quit. Begrudgingly, he agreed to leave the shares he invested in the company.
More trouble would arrive for Crystal and Taneia in the form of Dr. Laura Sedwick, the sister of Angela Sedwick Clyde, whose husband Crystal had an affair with a few years back in Chicago. Laura thought she could make Crystal pay for her sister's death by making sure her business crumbled to the ground. However, she didn't consider how Taneia would react to her machinations. When Taneia discoverd from Crystal that Laura might have been behind their missing bank statements, Taneia decided to confront the unhinged doctor. Worried about a confrontation between Taneia and Laura, Crystal and Darron raced to Blanchencore Hospital, but were nonetheless too late as Taneia and Laura had already shared words. In fact, Crystal and Romain's presence just aggravated the situation, leading Laura to blow up the hospital.
It was a miracle that Laura and Taneia escaped alive, considering they were the closest to the point of impact. It took a while, however, for Taneia and Darron to locate Crystal and Romain, who ended up being treated at Springfield Medical. It was around this time that Taneia and Darron agreed to call a truce. (Darron and Taneia have a long, timultous history due to his relationship with Carmen Fieldings, and the death of their child, Taja). Taneia's trouble with Laura would not be easily solved.
After ruthlessly attempting to kill Crystal, Laura lured Taneia back to Hallandale under the ruse that T.E.C.'s Restaurante was on fire. When Taneia arrived on the grounds to find her restaurant in one piece, she knew something was up. That's when Laura Sedwick came out of the shadows, determined to slice and dice her as she did Crystal. Taneia managed to get away, but it wouldn't be far enough for Laura, who tracked Taneia down to the edge of town. As the two ladies neared the edge of a cliff, Laura knew that an imminent death among the rocks was the perfect way to silence Taneia for good. However, Kyle Pierre, who happened around that edge of town, came to Taneia's rescue just as Laura lunged forward at Taneia, only finding dead air as she para sailed down the rocky cliffs to her death. Taneia, who was fortunate enough to be saved, was surprised to see that her savior was Kyle, whom she thought left town.
In the weeks coming, Taneia would play matchmaker for Crystal by bringing her ex- husband, Javier Sanchez, back to town before coming to the decision to leave Hallandale in search of herself, which she felt she lost after everything that happened the past year. Taneia briefly returned in Season 4 to offer comfort to Crystal after Billy was shot.
