Sandy was hired by Shaquanna Nichols to investigate Widlin Pierre's past. After eavesdropping on a private conversation between Widlin and Camille Bellows, Sandy learned the bulk of Widlin's dark past lied buried in Coral Springs, Nevada.  Determined to unwrap the truth, she informed Shaquanna of her travel plans and headed off to West Creek Camp in Nevada.  Upon arriving there, she was given a not so warm reception by the owner, Brett Delgado, who threatened her with solicitation charges if she did not vacate the grounds.  After convincing her to leave, Brett made a phone call to his boss, informing her that Sandy was snooping around about Widlin Pierre's past.  Too his surprise, his boss suggested that he kill Sandy Reynolds.  Not willing to commit murder, he hung up the phone and took the next flight out of Coral Springs, leaving West Creek Camp behind.

Meanwhile, Sandy tried to enlist the help of Mitchell Desmores (her sister's husband) to locate the goods on Widlin.  It became obvious at the time that Mitchell and Sandy were lovers and that Mitchell was only married to Sherri (Sandy's sister) for her money.  During a cruise of the city, the threat on Sandy's life was at its peak as a hired gunmen came onboard and opened fire shortly after.  Unfortunately for him, his aim was off and he accidentally shot and killed Kasey Alvarez instead.  Sandy, shooked up by everything that went down, put an end to her plan to steal her sister's money and informed her sister that she and Mitchell were lovers.  After witnessing her sister's reaction to the affair, Sandy became worried for a while about the bad karma surrounding her and rightfully so.  Before leaving Coral Springs, Sandy visited a fortune teller's hut and received an ominous reading forewarning her to stay clear of water.

Upon returning to Hallandale, where her sister had also relocated, Sandy learned that Sherri had arranged for their parents to cut her out of the will.  While furious at first, as time went on, Sandy became less interested in the money and more focused on her future with Mitchell.  However, the two were struggling financially and Mitchell decided to search for job opportunities.  That same morning, a hired gunman located Sandy and after trying to have his way with her, shot the fiesty PI.  Upon returning home, Mitchell discovered her in the bathroom, lying in a pool of her own blood and called an ambulance.  Sandy slipped into a coma, where she battled in her dream a spiritual trial to decide whether or not she should continue to live.  As the verdict was about to be announce, Sandy awoken from her coma with no recollection of her life with Mitchell.  It took several months before Sandy regained recollection of her time with Mitchell, but it was too late because Mitchell had already left town with a pregnant Akeira Smith Santana.  Sandy then became focused on her sister's love life, listening to her sister's problem and giving her advice.  Since Romain and Sherri broke up, Sandy has made it her personal mission to get the two back together.

After several failed attempts and a kiss between her and Romain that Sherri witnessed at Monte Carlos, Sandy gave up her side job as a matchmaker.  Of course, that wasn't until after her sister labeled her a slut and husband stealer in front of most of Hallandale, including Darron Wolek, whom she had become friends with.  Following that disgraceful moment, Sandy just wanted to retreat into a hole and die.  However, when she got home, she found the surprise of a lifetime waiting for: Mitchell Desmores.  Maybe the night wasn't shot, after all, she thought.  Sadly, it would become clear that Mitchell wasn't back to rekindle their romance, but to start a new life with his new wife, Akeira Smith Desmores, and their child, Roy.  Even with Akeira and her son standing in front of her clear as day, she could not grapple how the man she shared such a connection with could go and marry someone else.  Mitchell reminded her that she couldn't remember how much they loved one another and as hard as it was for him to move on, he didn't see any other option.  This infused her with hope that his relationship with Akeira was simply one of convenience, heighten by the fact that she named his child after his father.  Mitchell, however, resented the implication and declared his love for Akeira before walking out on his ex.  The next morning, Sandy goes to see Romain and find out how things fared with her sister.  However, he has as little interest in talking about last night as she does, and opts to ask her out instead.  Sandy is hesistant at first, considering everything that went down between them and her sister, but after giving it some more thought, she decides what the heck.  They end up seeing a movie and going back to her place, where she invites him in for a night cap.  They debated about the film's presentation on happily ever after, which ultimately caused Sandy to slip about Mitchell's marriage to Akeira, which definitely cleared up her sudden disillusionment with love in my Romain's eyes.  Sandy, however, explained that it was more about her accepting that she ruined her chance with the one man she would always love.
