Robin is a nurse at Leysdale Hospital.  She is also married to a doctor, Jay Elkasinogen, making them one of Hallandale's most successful couples since the botched marriage of William Arlington and Jessica Chappell, and the tragic end to supercouple Michelle Dientes and Kasey Alvarez.  However, their marriage would soon be rocked by its own obstacles during Rochelle Desmores' conviction trial, where Robin and Jay got into a heated debate over Rochelle's guilt in the attempted murder of "Leonard" Stone.  The argument would then branch off into Robin's unresolved insecurities about Jay's engagement to his first love, Saraje Jeminson, who was killed tragically while driving home with Jay.  It was her dear friend and colleague, Samantha, who finally convinced Robin to put her ridiculous insecurities to rest as a dead woman was a hardly threat to their marriage.

Life for the married couple seemed to be back on track until the night of their anniversary, when Robin suddenly ran into a bout of sickness.  Jay insisted that they go to the hospital, jumping to the conclusion that Robin might be pregnant.  Low and behold, he was right; she was pregnant.  However, she did not want to be and pleaded with the doctor to tell her it wasn't true.  Still in denying about the baby's existence, she told Jay that she was not pregnant and a couple days later, decided to have an abortion in order to keep his/her existence a secret.  After finally reaching the operating table, Robin chickened out and could not go through with the abortion.  She then confided in Samantha about what she almost did, eliciting an icy response from her friend, who feared how Robin's husband would take the news.  Following Samantha's suggestion that she tell Jay the truth right away, Robin called Jay to the hospital, sharing the news of her pregnancy first before hitting him with the second half of the double whammy.

When Jay finally heard the full story with his own eyes and ears, he was naturally shocked and angry.  However, choosing not to allow his emotions to get the better of him, he ended the conversation as smoothly as possible and decided to put the discussion to rest until morning.  After clearly discussing everything that went down and reasons for her rash decision, the couple decided to put the incident behind them and move forward.  However, that hasn't been as easy as Robin would like her husband to believe.  She is still haunted by what she almost did when she's asleep and even when she's awake.  Instead of opening up to her husband about her feelings and the dreams, she confided to Delilah about her unsettled fears.  As she continues to play the happy expectant mother for her husband, and perhaps, even herself, lingering thoughts of the fateful day when she will give birth to her son or daughter continues to rattle her.
