Joy is a tough, aggressive attorney who came to Hallandale to defend Kavina Shah in the murder of Leonard Stone. She also stepped on quite a number of toes trying to prove that Kavina was not in her right state of mind when she shot Leonard Stone. Her brilliant defense enabled Kavina to be sentenced to an Anger Management facility for 12 months, where Kavina would receive help and be rehabilitated back into society. It also earned her props from Royce Keller, who recommended that Jessica seek Joy's services in prolonging her [Jessica] ex- husband's (William Arlington) release from prison. Although Joy was shock to learn that she would be going up against her ex- husband (Armann “A” Ramsey-Lakhan), the prospect interest her enough to take on the case. The two have been putting together a strategy to strike Armann when he least expects it.
