Devon was living quietly in Coral Springs, Nevada, before the discovery of a corpse that turned out to be his younger brother (Ralph), a fact that he kept hidden from his significant other, Juliet. Instead, he led her to believe that Ralph was an old friend that he lost touch with. When the investigation into Ralph's murder led them to Hallandale, Devon used it as an opportunity to get answers and please Juliet at the same time, who was looking for an exciting change in their relationship. The move, however, wasn't as pleasant as Juliet hoped it would be. The fact that she was new in town and Devon had basically ditched her to focus on Ralph's murder case did not help matters. In order to get his attention, she picked up a random guy at a bar and brought him back to her place, where they proceeded to have intercourse. Devon was floored upon when he came home and caught Juliet with this man. She explained that the affair was his fault because she had been driven to another man for comfort because she wasn't getting it from him. To appease her, he told her that he would recuse himself from his "friend's" murder investigation. Unfortunately, Devon didn't keep his promise and later got into a heated argument with Officer Rivera after hearing that the authorities would no longer be monopolizing their manpower to investigate the case. Juliet, who stumbled onto the argument, was certain now more than ever that more was going on between Devon and this Ralph Lynchetterette than he was letting on. So she went to Rebecca Hendricks to see if she could find any information linking Devon and Ralph Lynchetterette together. Juliet hoped that this would give her insight into their relationship and help her understand why Devon was so passionate about finding this man's killer. However, the investigation turned out to be more enlightening than Juliet thought possible. She learned that the man she knew as "Devon Lee Hunter" was in actuality, Devon Lynchetterette, Ralph Lynchetterette's brother. It all made sense now, but the question that remained was why - why did Devon lie about his brother and his identity? The answers he provided did not do justice for her. Instead, she felt as if she had been living with a stranger the whole time and that outlook ultimately resulted in the beginning of the end for their relationship.
After a few months of tension, in which Devon had studied and earned his PI license, Devon packed his bags and told Juliet that he was finally giving her what she wanted-- he was moving out. Juliet, however, was not as happy as she thought she would be to have Devon out of her life for good. But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger: Juliet began dating Darron Wolek shortly after her official breakup with Devon, who officially took over the case of his brother's murder after obtaining the case file from Officer Rivera. The evidence led him on a road literally to Widlin Pierre, whose car he found stuck in a ditch. While he helped her recuperate in his hotel room, he begin to get bits and pieces of information from Widlin that led him to believe she had information about his brother's death. In fact, when she finally regained consciousness, she was yelling out "Ralph, stop" from a nightmare she had just had. She tried her best to smooth talk her way out of the bizarre confrontation, but Devon wasn't buying. With Widlin still raw from her breakup with Darron, it was only a matter of time before she cracked and confessed. During a carefully staged run-in at El Club de Moniasis, Devon finally got Widlin to tell him the whole story from start to finish about what went down between his brother, her and Akeira. The shock of hearing the accusation that his brother almost raped Widlin sent Devon into overdrive, but it was nothing compared to the horror he faced upon realizing that Widlin had instructed the blow that killed his brother. At that moment, the sight of her made him want to throttle something-- someone, that in order to keep his sinister thoughts suppressed, he quickly stormed out of the club. After weeks of torture, Widlin finally received a reprieve from Devon when he told her that he would not be pressing charges.
