Billy Clyde
Billy arrived in Hallandale for business reasons and maybe a little pleasure, but that didn't happen for a while.  His business plans were with none other than Crystal Perez, the woman he had an affair with while living in Chicago and married to Angela Sedwick.  His affair with Crystal cost him his wife and their unborn child, as both were killed when Angela got in the middle of a fist fight between Javier (Crystal's ex- husband) and Billy.

Fast forward three years later, Billy met Crystal for a dinner meeting at Monte Carlos (the most luxurious restaurant in town) in hopes of getting her to agree to a business merger between Fantasy and T.E.C. Restauante.  Crystal, however, outright squashed the idea, realizing Taneia would never go for it since they had already work so hard to get Earl's shares out of the company.  Billy didn't let that stop him though and proceeded with his next plan of action.  Taneia also took matters into her own hands and lured Javier Sanchez back to town, hoping that Crystal would take it as an opportunity to fix things with her ex.  Unfortunately, when Crystal finally came face to face with Javier, it was with Billy attached to her arm.  Javier's hopes were dashed and they continued to be crush as time went by, which in turn made him a very angry and bitter man.  This is what ultimately pushed Crystal into Billy's arm.  In fact, once Taneia left town, Billy felt more confident that he would be able to sway her into his way of thinking.  As a result, he revealed to her a new business building that he bought and would have christened "Crystal's Fantasy & Associates."

Since she spent the greater part of the last two years running T.E.C., she figured a change would be nice.  However, CF & A's opening party ended in disaster when Crystal and Billy's joy on the roof of their new establishment was interrupted by gunfire.  Billy was hit, despite warning from Matthew and Dana - who stumbled onto the scene - to look out.  He was then rushed to Leysdale Hospital, where he immediately slipped into a coma.  When he was no longer able to breathe on his own, the doctors placed him on emergency respiratory support.  It was pretty much touch and go for the next few months, but a miracle was granted and Billy regained the ability to breathe on his own.  When he finally awoke from his coma, the authorities were present to question him about the new evidence they received in his shooting.  When he was given the description of his assailant, he denied having a clue who it could be.  He later confronted Crystal with his suspicions, but she could not believe in her heart of hearts that Javier was a killer.  Seeing how much the accusation hurt her, Billy laid his suspicions to rest until morning, when he left the hospital for evidence to prove his suspicions.  He ended up at Javier's apartment, which had not been maintained in months.  While there, he quickly stumbled on to a receipt transaction for a pistol.  Before he could react, Javier arrived, curious to know why Billy was in his home.  Billy tried to dance around the topic, but grew bored of Javier's stupidity and demanded that he admit the truth about the shooting.  Javier gloriously recounted every single detail for an incoming Crystal to overhear.  Shocked and disgusted by the news, Crystal could hardly speak, but it was clear from the words she was able to utter that she was sickened by Javier's excuses and the sight of him.  Giving them one more lasting memory, Javier jumped from the balcony of the apartment complex, horrifying both Crystal and Billy.  Matthew and Dana stumbled upon the corpse and quickly phoned the authorities, who questioned both them, Crystal and Billy at the scene.  Although it was an apparent suicide, the fact that Javier was an undercover operative of the federal bureau required that the FBI do their own investigation.  Despite their suspicions of foul play, the FBI could not obtain evidence to back up their beliefs and had no choice but to declare Javier's death a suicide.  Shortly before that ruling, Billy and Crystal, who got into a devastating rut after Javier's suicide, had finally managed to settle their differences thanks to a little help from Billy's mother.  Billy and Crystal also received news that their partner, Alfonso Morgan, was leaving for a greater opportunity in Seattle.  Despite their dissatisfaction over Alfonso's decision to quit, they wished him well in his new endeavors and agreed to look after Mindy for him.  Days following Alfonso's departure, Billy had a heart to heart with Mindy and tried to convince her not to allow Alfonso's departure to be the end of their [Alfonso and Mindy] friendship.  However, Mindy did see it as the end and refused to call him or acknowledge that he still existed.  In an effort to help Mindy move past Alfonso and breathe life back into CF&A (which had been marred with disaster after disaster), Crystal suggested throwing a party, which would later serve as the second annual masquerade ball in lue of the one Crystal and Taneia through a year ago.

While Crystal and Mindy focused on preparing for the Masquerade Gala, Billy started looking into new financing opportunities for the changes he and Crystal had planned.  He started with one of Fantasy Inc.'s biggest supporters, Luxury Industries.   However, Billy got the surprise of his life when his friend and business contact, Kaitlin Mathurn, informed him that LI just recently came under new management and the new CEO was on the verge of pulling out of Fantasy Inc.  After sharing the news with Crystal, he resolved to confront the new CEO face to face the next day.  He did just that, despite opposition from LI's full-force security team.  Once face to face with LI's new CEO, Morgan Hysterias, Billy demanded an explanation behind Mr. Hysterias' choice to drop Fantasy Inc.  Morgan broke it down to simple business economics (that Fantasy wasn't thriving in the current business market and it was no longer safe nor profitable for LI to continue investing in the company).  Billy attempted to reason with Morgan, reasoning that there were several mitigating factors that impacted the business, but Morgan only saw it as more affirmation that LI needed to pull out of the company.  Morgan, however, did offer Billy the chance to come back when things became more grounded.  As one could expect, Billy told the new CEO exactly where to stick it before leaving the office in disgust.  Later that evening, Billy decided to track down his old boss for more answers.
