Alexander is man of enormous wealth, power and control. He is use to getting what he wants, even if it means getting his hands dirty. In fact, many will refer to him as callous, ruthless and unfeeling. He is the editor of the sleaziest news rag (Past Relations Chronicles) in town, in which he takes no pause in exploiting the secrets and tragedies of the citizens of Hallandale. In fact, the only time his job hasn't taken precedent over everything was when he was happily involved with a woman, the first being the love of his life, Sasha Smith.
Then again, Alexander's role in Past Relations Chronicles (PRC) wasn't major until much later, following his father's death and the birth of Alex and Sasha's first and only daughter, Widlin. When Alexander's father died, he left strict instructions for his son to continue at the helm of PRC, which Alexander did. Alexander also began working closely with his father's young and flirtatious assistant, Denise Sharrington, who had a thing for the new editor and was happy to work for him after years of watching him from afar. Denise also fantasized many times what it would be like to live in the Pierre Mansion with Alexander. Unfortunately for her, her fantasies would amount to just that since Alexander was committed and married to Sasha. His commitment, however, didn't keep him from embarking on a steamy affair with his co- worker. After all, he could love his wife and have a little fun at the same time -- a little lesson he learned from his father. His wife wouldn't have to know and as such, what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Unfortunately for Alex, he didn't anticipate his mistress getting pregnant, which surely complicated things down the road.
For Denise, her pregnancy represented a chance for her to explore a life with Alexander she always dreamed about. For Alexander, it was a threat to everything he held dear. He needed Denise and her pregnancy to disappear, so he offered to pay her off handsomedly if she would leave town. Denise declined, not willing to give up her dreams of raising her unborn child with Alexander. When Sasha finally learned the truth from Alexander, who couldn't keep up the lies and pretense any longer, Denise's hopes were dashed when Sasha decided to continue fighting for her marriage with Alexander. Of course, the will to fight didn't make it easy for Sasha to forget about her husband's trangressions, especially when his mistress was walking around with his child. Although Alexander maintained he wouldn't be apart of the kid's life, Sasha had her doubts, especially when she found out it was a boy. But to her surprise, Alexander kept his promise and didn't have any contact with his son after Denise gave birth. Eventually, Denise left town with her son, Kyle. Alexander and Sasha remained happy for another year or so before Sasha passed away from cancer.
Following Sasha's death, his daugher became his livelihood. However, Widlin was so distressed by the lost of her mother that Alexander ended up losing her as well when he decided that a camp in Coral Springs would be better able to provide a support system for her than he could. Alexander spent the next decade or so dedicating his life to Past Relations Chronicles and making it into a paper that his father would be proud of. To bad most of Hallandale wanted to throttle him. He would also become involved with Akeira Smith Santana, a seemingly innocent woman with a child suffering from cancer. For Alexander, this was his second chance at love, something he didn't expect after Sasha's death nearly 15 years ago. Unfortunately, it would turn out that Akeira was nothing more than your run of the mill gold digger, passing off someone else's cancer-ridden child as her own. When Alexander learned of that harsh truth, he kicked Akeira to the curb and acted rather coldly toward her until she ultimately left town, pregnant with his unborn child.
In the wake of Akeira's departure, Alexander began interfering in his daughter's relationship with ex- con, Darron Wolek. He was vehemently opposed to Widlin's involvement with Darron, convinced that he was yet another gold digger after the Pierre's fortune. Despite his colorful past, Widlin did not believe Darron was operating under the same agenda that Akeira had been while with her father and told her father to back off. Alexander, instead, gave his daughter an ultimatum: "dump Darron or I will cut you off financially." Instead of making a choice between wealth and Darron, Widlin began sneaking around with Darron in an effort to conceal the relationship from her father. When Alexander learned that she was still seeing Darron, he wasted no time twisting the situation to his advantage by informing Darron that Widlin didn't believe he would stick with her once she was stricken off all her wealth. Considering the source, Darron was skeptical, but when he heard the truth from Widlin's own mouth, greatly disappointed with her lack of faith in him, he called off the relationship. Flaming mad, Widlin blasted her father for his involvement in her and Darron's breakup and moved out. Alexander was once again left with nothing, but Past Revelations Chronicles. As a result, he made steps to find Akeira and his new son or daughter. After a while, he also attempted to make amends with Widlin, but she wouldn't hear it. Instructing her father to focus on his son, the one who was getting married and might be open for forgiving him because she was done. Strangely enough, Alexander took her advice to heart and crashed Kyle and Lacreasha's engagement party, asking his son for a second chance.
