Akeira Smith Desmores
Akeira is worldly, sophisticated and unfortunately, an opportunistic. After the death of her first husband nearly two decades ago, she became fixated on wealth and power.  In fact, it was no coincidence that she just so happened to be the new woman on Alexander Pierre's arm. She even duped him into believing that she had given birth to a cancer-ridden child. However, despite being able to successfully blackmail his daughter (Widlin) into keeping her mouth shut, the truth would eventually come out. Akeira's real and much older son came to town, stunned to realize what his mother had been up to with Alexander.  In order to retain some of her son's trust, Akeira was forced to come clean with Alexander about everything.  Unfortunately for her, Alexander didn't take the truth very warm-heartedly, kicking Akeira to the curb.  Her luck went from bad to worse when she later learned that she was expecting.  Unsure of what to do about her pregnancy at first, the night of Crystal's Fantasy & Associates' grand opening made it abundantly clear that things between her and Alex had escalated to the point of no return.  Thus, she would keep the truth of her pregnancy to herself.  Or so she thought?  In a fit of rage, Alfonso, who learned of Akeira's pregnancy earlier that evening, let it slip to Alexander that his ex- was pregnant with his [Alexander] child.  Before Alexander could react, Akeira disappeared with her newly acquainted friend, Mitchell Desmores, after bonding over the mess they made of their lives.

After nearly a year on the lam, Akeira returned to Hallandale with her new born baby boy and now husband, Mitchell Desmores.  The reasons for her return haven't been revealed as of yet, but a conversation with her husband indicated that the return was not a spur of the moment decision.  One can only hope that she is prepared for what will happen once Alexander learns she is back with his son.
