IN RETROSPECT: When the series premiered back in 2001, everything seem to evolve around the tortured relationship of Leonard Stone and Rochelle Desmores. Hardly anyone could understand how Rochelle continued to be pulled into Leonard's web of adultry. The final straw would come when Rochelle discovered Leonard in bed with her best friend, Lacreasha Dupree. This would set forth a series of events leading to Leonard's untimely murder, yet the story would continue to focus on the fledging romance of Leonard and Rochelle while circumventing airtime for other stories coming into their own: Matthew and Dana's psychic connection and their love ones' disapproval, Jessica and William's tenuous marriage, Dr. Laura Sedwick's vendetta against Crystal and Taneia, and so much more.
